Class Two Trip to Harlow Carr

Class Two braved the rain on Thursday 15th March and walked to Harlow Carr to discover ‘How your garden grows’. The workshop included finding out how seeds grow and one child was chosen to be a seed and grow into a beautiful sunflower.

The children planted Pak Choi seeds and collected some more seeds and leaves from the gardens.

Back at the Education Centre the children were introduced to some very interesting seeds and their cases from far flung places. Their favourite was the Cocoa Da Mere seed also known as an elephant’s bottom seed, which is the largest seed in the world and only grows in the Seychelles.

A big thank you to Mrs. Layfield, Mrs. Mackintosh and Mrs. Ryder who helped on the trip.
